Steel HD Remington 700

The HD mount is our newest edition to the EGW mount line. We asked our customers and tactical shooters what improvements we could make, and we came up with the ultimate mount.


Our steel mounts start out as 4140 Chrome Molly steel. We cut them to length and heat treat the short sections to minimize warpage.

After heat treat and tempering we machine them in the hardened condition. This keeps our mounts strait and true. It is easier to machine the steel in the soft condition and than heat treat but they move around during heat treat which is not desirable. EGW uses custom ground coated carbide endmills to machine our rails in the heat treated condition.

What makes the HD mount special?

- Full length cross-slots to true picatinny specifications
- Lower profile (approx. .100" lower than the standard mounts at .350" high)
- TORX screws provided with TORX allen key
- Matte black oxide finish
